LARA HUDSON is an internationally recognized star and choreographer of eight award-winning and best-selling fitness DVD’s, a national magazine cover model, the author of a comprehensive Pilates certification training program, and a Pilates Method Alliance Gold Certified Instructor with over 15 years of teaching experience.
The 10-Minute Solution: Pilates for Beginners won PilatesStyle Magazine’s Best Beginner Workout of 2011, the 10-Minute Solution: Pilates on the Ball was named FITNESS Magazine’s #1 DVD for Summer 2008, and the 10-Minute Solution: Rapid Results won SHAPE’s Top Ten DVD’s of 2007 and Health Magazine’s Best Pilates Workout of 2007. Lara’s first video, The 10-Minute Solution: Pilates, ranked number #1 in the Nielsen VideoScan Ranking upon its release and held that position for half a year, with an average sale of one thousand units per week at major marketplaces like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target and Amazon.
Lara has graced the covers of FIT Yoga and PilatesStyle Magazine. She’s written articles for SHAPE, SELF, Family Circle, Prevention, Women’s Health and USA Today. She was rated Best Pilates Instructor in San Francisco’s 7×7 Magazine, and her Northern California studio, the Mercury Fitness Pilates Center, was voted Best Pilates Facility in the Bay Area by San Francisco Magazine, and has garnered national recognition, with features in Vogue’s Guide to Premier Workouts, SHAPE and PilatesStyle.
Lara graduated Magna Cum Laude from the prestigious Theater Department at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her background includes competitive gymnastics, theater, yoga, dance and trapeze. She spent five years as a performing member of the critically acclaimed dance company, Diavolo, and has worked as an instructor and choreographer at UCLA, Loyola Marymount University and performing arts programs throughout the country.
